Every year, Bancroft sponsors multiple entries in ACE’s (Andover Coalition for Education) Scarecrow Festival downtown. The PTO is proud to continue this tradition with our own scarecrow for the third year, which also has the important job of overseeing our ACE Pumpkin Patch at Bancroft!
This year’s theme is “Sowing Seeds of Liberty: 250 Years of Bold Ideas,” and the PTO is creating a patriotic farmers market stall to accompany our Bobcat. Our market is more than just a place to grow fruits and vegetables, it’s a place to grow ideas! Just as the bold ideas planted by our nation’s founders 250 years ago helped shape the country we know today, we’re celebrating the curiosity, kindness, courage, and creativity of today’s students as the seeds of our future.
We’d love to have Bancroft students help us bring it to life by contributing their own hand-painted rocks. Students are invited to paint a rock with a design inspired by creativity, community, and what makes our school special.
Please don’t send painted rocks into school with your students, we’re pretty sure the teachers would prefer we NOT encourage hundreds of elementary students to arrive armed with rocks! Instead, families can drop them off directly at Bob’s farmers market stall once he’s arrived in the Bancroft loop island on October 15.
