Every year, Bancroft sponsors multiple entries in ACE’s (Andover Coalition for Education) Scarecrow Festival downtown. The PTO is proud to be a part of that tradition and contributing our own scarecrow for our third year, which has the important job of overseeing our ACE Pumpkin Patch at Bancroft.

This year’s theme is “Every Scarecrow Has a Story” and the PTO is creating a “story tree” to accompany our Bobcat. We would like to ask Bancroft students to contribute leaves for our tree and help us bring it to life.

Using the template linked here (there are several different leaf shapes to choose from), students can design a leaf that tells their own story. They can add drawings or symbols that represent their traditions, talents, dreams, wishes, or anything that makes them unique. They can sign their name to it or leave it anonymous. Once completed, return your student’s leaf to school and we’ll collect them from your teachers. Then keep an eye out for our scarecrow and story tree in the next few weeks! Leaves will be accepted at the school throughout the scarecrow festival (ending 11/2). You can scan/photograph and send them to us digitally as well at communications@bancroftpto.org.
