Signups for room parents will be closing this week and we still have several classrooms that need volunteers! Those classrooms currently in need are:
- K – Mrs. Chiozzi – 1 needed
- K – Ms. Corbin – 1 needed
- K – Miss Gohr – 2 needed
- K – Mrs. Zallen – 1 needed
- 2 – Mrs. Kulak – 2 needed
- 3 – Mrs. Prinn – 2 needed
- 5 – Mrs. Lovejoy – 1 needed
- 5 – Mr. Scanlon – 2 needed
If you have already signed up for one of these rooms, you are either the one slot that has already been filled, or if two are needed, you were named to another classroom and cannot serve in two classes at the same time.
Two parents per classroom will be in charge of communication with the teacher and coordinating classroom parties, teacher gifts and other classroom needs. Please note that you do not need to be a room parent to volunteer in your child’s classroom.
Room parent selection is at the discretion of Bancroft’s staff and administration. The PTO creates the signup form and passes the volunteer names onto the school who then selects and notifies those volunteers who have been chosen. Traditionally, two individuals are chosen per classroom; signing up does not guarantee you one of these spots. This is a blind sign up; you will not see your name after adding it to the list, please do not sign up multiple times.
After room parents have been chosen, the PTO provides additional support with a virtual training session, access to an online Frequently Asked Questions, and room parent coordinators. The coordinators will be your “go to” people when any additional questions come up throughout the year and will provide PTO related communications for you to forward to your classroom parents.
