What to do about all the snow days?
As of today, the Andover Schools have now used ALL 5 snow days scheduled for the 2017/18 school year. The School Committee has had discussions about contingencies for this year and will continue those discussions again at its next meeting, this Thursday, 1/11 at 7PM. Planning for additional snow days has implications – continuing school through the end of June is just one. In order to help explain this complex issue and answer questions about how snow days affect our school calendar, and to help us understand all the inner workings of planning the school calendar, the Andover School Committee has circulated a School Calendar FAQ. Among the items to be discussed at this Thursday’s meeting will be contingencies for the 2018/19 school year given students will not begin until the Thursday after Labor Day again next year.
